What means CEFR ?
CEFR means Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The CEFR is a ranking that allows you to assess your level of proficiency in a foreign language.
A1-A2 is for beginner learners.
B1-B2 is for intermediate learners.
C1-C2 is for advanced learners.
How many hours do I need to reach the next level ?
You will have to study with your teacher, approximately :
20 hours from A0 to A1
40 hours from A1 to A2
60 hours from A2 to B1
60 hours from B1 to B2
60 hours from B2 to C1
60 hours from C1 to C2
The time you need to learn a foreign language may also be influenced by your personal ability to learn this language, according to your experience in learning languages, the time you have to study and live in immersion, your native language.
What level do I need to take a foreign language test ?
Most of language exams require at least an A1 level or sometimes A2 level, up to C1 or C2 level.
Some exam (like TCF, SIELE) are made so that you don’t have to know your level in advance when you register. In that case, your results in the 4 parts of the exam will determine your level.
For other exams (like DELF-DALF, DELE), you will register for a level to pass the exam with a given percentage of good answers.
Can I really improve my language skills with online tutoring ?
